In May 2015 the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released the revised and very stringent B-BBEE Codes. Research has revealed that most companies have since inception of the          B-BBEE Codes in 2007 battled to achieve B-BBEE targets under the old codes – especially in terms of procurement spend with black owned entities. This challenge will be compounded under the new B-BBEE codes.
